ABOUT THE FORUM
The Metal Boat Forum is an interactive database arranged by subject and contributed by Metal Boat Society members and guests. It is a information service that may be browsed and searched. The Forum takes on the format of a "bulletin board" where text and pictures may be posted. Responses and/or further queries to other users for help or information is the majority of the content.
Forum provides an extensive knowledge base with over 10,000 recorded posts and also acts as a medium for discussion and information exchange. The extent of the information available here simply defies description! It is our hope that the information disseminated here will be of help to those who share our enthusiasm for this wonderfully diverse and incredibly durable method of vessel construction.
Some of the most experienced and well-known yacht designers in the world contribute on a regular basis, along with seasoned amateurs and professionals from all areas of vessel construction, operation, repair and maintenance. If you have questions about any aspect of metal boats, this is the place to be!
Some MBS members pursue careers as professionals in Forum topic areas and others are amateur builders with professions in other fields. Some of the topics are moderated and many of the topic moderators have been in the marine business for decades. Marine designers contribute regularly to our design section for example. The heating and ventilation section is moderated by the guy who wrote the book on the subject, literally.
The Forum actually offers substantial value to any boater ... not just owners of metal hulled boats. It is hard to find any boat without some metal and is subject to the issues we discuss. If you have an interest in boats, their design, construction, building and maintenance ... or any other aspect of boating, then please join us in our quest on Forum. We sincerely hope that you will enjoy the journey.
No action is required to read the public pages of Forum. In order to post on the Forum, a user first establishes an identity thru the registration process. If you have any concerns or questions with the registration process or the Forum itself, please email using the link at the bottom of the page for assistance.
